1. Beadrez Video and Included Examples

These blog pages are the main way to learn Beadrez. There is also a command reference notecard given with Beadrez -- it gives more details for chat commands. Also see the "Beadrez" group in SL for announcements and help.

The video below shows a demo of what Beadrez does (using v5 menus), but it's not a tutorial:

The picture below shows Beadrez v6. The hovertext shows some of the necklace settings. The red prims are adjustable sizing guides, and a loop of tiny white prims gives a shape preview -- that's NOT a necklace :) These guides show you where beads will rez. The object to the left is the "Teachpad", which is used to setup beads to store information about center, rotation, and spacing.

Beadrez contains various basic beads/links. The prims are full perm, but can temporarily appear copy-only until they are linked. Some are freebies or were made using freebie textures, so they may look familiar (credits listed in Xstreet ad). Others are my own creations (I also sell several sculpty link sets and other necklace parts).

Skip to Section 2 if you want to jump straight to a tutorial.
Or, read on for an overview of the included examples.

INCLUDED NOTECARD EXAMPLES
To generate some example necklaces, run stored notecards by clicking Beadrez and going to the "CARDS" menu. These examples are editable notecards stored inside Beadrez. To run one from chat instead, use the card command, for example: "/1card Example1".

Here are pictures of included examples:

Above: Example1 uses a repeat command for a repeating pattern of multiple beads.

Above: Example2 uses a twist command for alternating links.

Above: Example3 uses the bracelet command to set parameters to defaults for rezzing in a circle.
Above: Example4 shows something other than normal links: a freebie panel found at Sirena Hair and Fashion.
Above: Example5 uses scaling and repeat commands to generate a sequence of graduated beads from just one bead stored in Beadrez.
Above: Example6 is a small necklace showing incremental twist and one of my link sculpties.
Above: Example7 uses my S-links (standard prims) and was made by pasting output from the "info" command to a notecard.

Above: Example8 is a belly chain.

Above: Example9 is a small ring of only 1.5cm diameter, with beads spaced less than 1 millimeter apart.
Above: Example 10 and Example 11 are skirts made from apple skin panels (added in version 4).
Above: Example 12 is an aristocratic clown collar (added in version 4)

Above: Example 13 is a bracelet with two-tone s-links (added in version 4).
Above: Example 14 shows a "dip" that can be added to necklaces with the bump/dip shape feature in Beadrez 4
Above: "ExampleTemplate" contains a short summary of settings (read the notecard), and also demonstrates the "rezblock" command.
